Course Description
This annual training will prepare you to adhere to the Department of Psychiatry’s Behavioral Health Training Supervision Policy. This policy governs the requirements for the behavioral health trainee program, and covers supervisor requirements, trainee requirements, supervision requirements, trainee evaluation requirements, and protocols for managing clients in crises. Continued reimbursement by Medicaid for trainee billing at the university is contingent upon compliance with the Colorado Medicaid Standards for Unlicensed Practitioners. Thus, the rationale and imperative for this annual compliance training.

Learning Audience
This training is designed for Psychology and Social Work supervisors responsible for behavioral health trainees.

After completing this course, you should be able to:
- List the critical compliance components in the DOP’s Behavioral Health Training Supervision Policy.
- Direct trainees through the process of EPIC patient documentation.
- Use the new modifier for trainee billing to ensure audit compliance.
