Bipolar Disorder in Practice: A Rapid, Evidence-Based Guide for Therapists
The Colorado Bipolar Education Project (CoBE) Project Video Series Learning
This four-course series features courses with video lessons focused on practical, evidence-based skills that have proven effective in this population. The psychotherapy strategies discussed are primarily behavioral and symptom-focused, pulled from a range of evidence-based protocols, including Family Focused Therapy (FFT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Bipolar Disorder (CBT). Each lesson is relatively brief, typically 10-30 minutes, concise and to the point, focused on specific skills or strategies, with an emphasis on being clinically relevant and implementable. Each lesson includes a downloadable companion handout, and several have additional patient handouts useful in clinical practice.
Language note: Throughout this course series, we use the term “patient” when referring to those we treat, as we work in medical outpatient and hospital settings. We recognize that many in the therapy community use the term “client,” and in these courses, we consider the terms interchangeable.
Course Audience
This course series is primarily intended for therapists and other healthcare providers who are interested in learning more about diagnosing and treating patients with bipolar disorder but may not have the time to commit to taking a day-long or multi-day workshop on the subject.
